Albert s Stain A 500ml About

HiMedia S001 is Albert's Stain A, a specialized liquid staining solution used in microbiology for metachromatic staining. 
Intended Use
  • Identification: Used to demonstrate metachromatic granules (volutin bodies or polar bodies) in Corynebacterium diphtheriae, the bacterium that causes diphtheria.
  • Differentiation: Helps distinguish Corynebacterium diphtheriae from non-pathogenic diphtheroids that do not have these granules.
  • Pairing: Used with Albert's Stain B (product code S002) as part of the complete Albert's Metachromatic Stains Kit. 
Composition
  • Toluidine Blue: 1.5 gm
  • Malachite Green: 0.2 gm
  • Glacial Acetic Acid: 1.0 ml
  • Ethyl Alcohol (95%): 2.0 ml
  • Distilled Water: 100.0 ml [1]
Staining Appearance
  • Granules: Stain a distinct purple-black color.
  • Cytoplasm: Appears light green due to counterstaining.
