• Material: Made from chemical-resistant polypropylene (base) and transparent polycarbonate (dome).
• Design: Features a transparent dome with a knurled knob for easy handling, a groove for a silicon O-ring, and a base to hold desiccants (like silica gel).
• Stopcock: A three-way polypropylene stopcock with a self-lubricating PTFE plug allows for vacuum creation, shutting off, and release.
• Performance: Can hold a vacuum up to 740 mmHg for 24 hours without greasing and is autoclavable.
• Purpose: Used to absorb moisture, dry samples, and protect hygroscopic substances from atmospheric humidity and dust.

1. Place a desiccant (like anhydrous CaCl) in the bottom, with a perforated plate above it.
2. Place your samples on the plate.
3. Seal the lid by sliding it on carefully (sometimes "hugging" the desiccator for stability).
4. Connect a vacuum pump to the stopcock and draw air out; the PTFE plug allows for vacuum creation, sealing, and release.
