Product Overview
  • Packaging: Supplied as a pack of 5 vials, with each vial typically containing 50 ml of liquid emulsion. 
  • Function: Acts as an enrichment additive rich in lecithin, which serves as a substrate to differentiate organisms like Staphylococcus, Clostridium, and Bacillus species. 
  • Mechanism: Target bacteria produce lecithinase enzymes that break down lipoprotein complexes in the egg yolk, creating a visible opalescent zone or precipitate around the colonies
  • Specifications & Usage
    • Grade: Laboratory or microbiological grade.
  • Storage: Store refrigerated at 2C to 8C, protected from direct light; do not freeze.
  • Preparation: Warm the vial to room temperature and shake well before aseptically adding it to cooled, molten agar media (such as Baird-Parker agar).
