• Ethanol is flammable and can form an explosive mixture with air. It can also react violently with oxidants like nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and silver nitrate. When handling ethanol, you should wear chemical safety glasses, anti-static adhesive tape, and rubber gloves. You should also shower and change clothes after work. 
• Uses
• Ethanol is used in the production of cellulose acetate for photographic film, polyvinyl acetate for wood glue, and synthetic fibers. It's also used as a preservative, in table vinegar, and as an intermediate in the chemical industry.
