About Grade 41 Circles 125 mm

Whatman Grade 41 filter paper circles, 125 mm in diameter, are ashless qualitative filter papers known for their fast filtration speed and suitability for quantitative air and soil pollution analysis. They are designed for analytical procedures involving coarse particles or gelatinous precipitates and can be used for preparing samples for metal analysis after nitric acid digestion. Key characteristics of Whatman Grade 41 circles (125 mm):
  • Ashless: Made from pure cellulose with extremely low ash content, making them suitable for quantitative analysis.
  • Fast Filtration: Grade 41 is one of the fastest filter papers in the Whatman ashless range, with a filtration speed of 54 seconds (Herzberg).
  • Particle Retention: They have a nominal particle retention rating of 20 m.
  • Applications: Primarily used for routine air and soil pollution analysis, as well as for preparing samples for metal analysis following nitric acid digestion.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Well-suited for quantitative analysis where high flow rates are needed.
