OA Selective Supplement 5vl Himedia About

HiMedia FD212A OA Selective Supplement is an ISO-recommended,, antibacterial, and antifungal additive used for the selective isolation of Listeria species. Each vial (sufficient for 500 ml medium) contains Polymyxin B sulphate, Ceftazidime, Nalidixic acid, and Amphotericin B. It is specifically used with HiCrome Listeria Ottaviani-Agosti Agar Base. Key Details for FD212A (OA Selective Supplement):
  • Purpose: Inhibits accompanying microflora to allow Listeria species growth.
  • Composition (per vial):
    • Polymyxin B sulphate: 38350 IU
    • Ceftazidime: 10 mg
    • Nalidixic acid, sodium salt: 10 mg
    • Amphotericin B: 5 mg
  • Application: Used with M1540I/MV1540A/MCD1540A agar bases for identifying Listeria monocytogenes via green-colored colonies and an opaque halo.
  • Preparation: Rehydrate the contents of 1 vial with 2 ml of 0.2 N Sodium hydroxide, further add 8 ml of sterile distilled water.
  • Storage: Store at 2-8C.
