Reinforced Clostridial Agar (RCA) is a non-selective medium used for the cultivation and enumeration of Clostridia and other anaerobic bacteria. It is specifically designed to encourage the growth of Clostridia from small inocula and to achieve the highest viable cell counts. Key Features and Properties:

Non-selective:RCA is a non-selective medium, meaning it does not contain ingredients that inhibit the growth of certain bacteria while favoring others.
Enriched:It is enriched with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to support the growth of Clostridia and other anaerobic bacteria.
Used for:
- Cultivating Clostridia and other anaerobes.
- Enumerating Clostridia in various samples, including food and biological samples.
- Studies of spore-forming anaerobes, especially in dairy products.

Typical Formula:
