DPD No. 4 tablets are essential reagents for water testing, primarily used with a colorimeter or comparator to measure Total Chlorine (free + combined) and also used for determining Ozone levels in swimming pools, spas, and drinking water; they react with the water sample, creating a pink/red color proportional to the disinfectant level for accurate, rapid, and reliable analysis, offering user safety with modern low-potassium iodide formulations and extended shelf life. How They Work:

Sample Collection: A water sample is placed in a clear test vial.
Reagent Addition: A DPD No. 4 tablet is crushed and added to the water.
Color Development: The tablet dissolves, and the chlorine (or ozone) reacts with the DPD compound, producing a red/pink color.
Measurement: The color intensity is then measured using a colorimeter (for precision) or visually compared to a color chart (for quick checks).
